Summary

FrameTrap is free, with no ads or in-app purchases. It processes camera and tracking data on your Android device. We do not use advertising or analytics, and we do not proxy or store your video stream. When you choose to stream, the composition and audio you selected are sent directly from your device to Twitch.

Camera, microphone, and media

FrameTrap uses camera images, motion information, and—when available—ARCore environment data to find and maintain the screen you select. This processing happens on the device. Microphone audio is included only when you enable audio for a recording or stream.

Local recordings remain on your device unless you choose to move or share them. FrameTrap does not upload room imagery or recordings to its service.

Twitch streaming and account connection

When you start a Twitch stream, FrameTrap sends your selected video composition and enabled audio directly to Twitch using Twitch's streaming service. Twitch processes that content under Twitch's own terms and privacy notice.

During the connected-account sign-in flow, a FrameTrap service on Cloudflare exchanges Twitch's short-lived authorization code. It keeps only short-lived, one-time handoff records needed to return the credentials to your device. Access and refresh tokens are encrypted in transit, are never placed in a browser URL, and are removed from the service after redemption. The Android app stores device-held credentials using Android Keystore protections.

FrameTrap requests only permissions used by the shipped Twitch features. This includes permission to retrieve the connected broadcaster's stream key when starting a direct Twitch broadcast. The automatic path retrieves that key on the Android device; FrameTrap's Cloudflare service does not receive or retain it.

Chat and channel information

Connected-account features may read your Twitch identity, channel title, category, live status, viewer count, and chat, and may update or send those items only when you use the corresponding controls. FrameTrap does not retain chat history on its service.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics are off by default. If you explicitly create a diagnostic bundle, it may contain camera or monitor imagery and technical device information. The bundle stays on your device until you choose to export it. Review it before sharing.

Data sharing and sale

FrameTrap does not sell personal information. We do not share data for advertising. Service providers such as Twitch and Cloudflare process the limited data needed to deliver the features you choose to use.

Disconnecting and deletion

You can disconnect FrameTrap from Twitch in the app or revoke access from Twitch's Connections settings. Disconnecting removes device-held Twitch credentials. Short-lived authorization handoffs expire automatically if they are not completed.

Children

FrameTrap is not directed to children under 13. Twitch account use is also subject to Twitch's age and eligibility requirements.
